As close to zero fermentation as possible, Zeo offers a profile that tastes like no coffee you've tasted before but exactly like coffee should.

Zeo is the latest innovation from a team redefining the world of coffee processing. In every process, fermentation is both necessary and inevitable. Diego Bermudez and Finca El Paraíso however have developed a technique to remove seed from cherry with virtually no fermentation at all. The goal: to present a geisha in it's purest form, as a cup with the closest possible expression to its fruit.

To start El Paraíso cultivate the best geisha possible by selectively growing the seedlings for this lot. To capture the clean, complex, and floral qualities the varietal is prized for takes a few careful steps.

Cherries of optimal ripeness are hand-picked, immersed in an ozone bath to remove impurities and microbes and then frozen at -40°C in 4hrs. The frozen fruit is moved to a vacuum drying chamber where a combination of zeolites (a compound with a high absorption rate) and negative pressure rapidly dehydrate the coffee cherries and preserves the Geisha's natural structure, colour, and flavour. The result is a no-fermentation coffee that's never been heated and has the dehydrated pulp still intact.

A process that takes less than 10hrs from harvest, delivers an experience of the rarity of geisha in its truest form – as a fruit.

Expect a cup with a light body, beautiful progressive stone fruit acidity, round sweetness, with notes of jasmine, lemongrass, apricot, and litchi (very much like biting into the fruit of a geisha cherry).

This is a 48g jar from our new Rare Release® category. It is roasted to order and will only be shipped as wholebean.

When will my order ship?

📆 All online orders are typically shipped on Wednesday each week to ensure we get the freshest available stock to you. This means anything ordered by midnight on Tuesday is guaranteed to ship on Wednesday, orders placed after this will ship by the following Wednesday at the latest. In some cases, items may ship sooner if we have fresh stock available.

🗺 Arrival depends on where you're based —within Johannesburg orders will often arrive the day after you receive tracking information, other major centres will usually receive orders 2 days after you get a tracking number in your inbox, outlying areas may take up to 3 days.

💫 We ship free to all of South Africa on orders over R699, for orders below this value a R70 delivery fee will be included at Checkout.

You can also opt for a store pickup at our Kramerville Roastery or Rosebank Cafe, just select this option at Checkout. We'll send you a "ready to collect" notification as soon as your order is, well, ready to collect.

🌍 We offer international shipping on orders under 2kg (weight includes packaging). For int'l shipping, vvv important to note is that no order greater than 2kgs will be accepted at checkout. Please reduce your shipment weight – a safe max is 6 boxes of coffee. If you happen to have your heart set on more coffee (!) then just abandon your cart with a note in the "special instructions for seller" window that asks us to raise a quote for shipping your order through to you and we'll get back to you with a cost ASAP.

Unfortunately, the South African postal service is infamous for being the total opposite of a vibe so our int'l shipping is handled via DHL Express Worldwide. This means int'l shippings fees are a little steep, but you will get your coffee in record time and will be able to track it all the way to your door.

🛫 We currently offer international shipping to: EU & UK, USA & Canada, Australia & New Zealand, and the UAE. We'll be adding more countries and regions soon, so check back if shipping to yours isn't available yet! Or pop us a mail to make us hurry up.

NB: some import duties may be applicable on arrival depending on your country's policies.
